Have you observed the fall of the cards? Then you are in a position to make a pretty shrewd guess. West has pleaded guilty to 7 points in hearts and to the ♦K, 10 points in all. East is blameless, except for the jack and, by inference, the ♥Q. It is more likely that the defenders’ high-card strength was divided between them 10-5 than 12-3. Therefore, the better chance is to play East for the ♣Q.
